Gift Card Ornament

My upline is having her team meeting tonight and the swap is some kind of ornament. So I decided to make this:

Isn't it adorable? I found it while cruising blogs and I apologize but now I can't find where I found it!

The penguin is made with all kinds of SU punches (1/2 inch circle, 1 inch circle, 1 3/4 inch circle, all three sizes of ovals, window, three for you and star punch). The three for you punch was used for his little feet, which you can't see in the picture.

Until next time, happy stamping!

This is such a cool technique! I hope the girls like it!

Crafting!

In case you were wondering what I have been up to...

Craft sale stuff! My church is holding it's annual Christmas bazaar this Saturday, from 9 to 1:30pm. If you are in Guelph and in the neighbourhood of St. John's Elementary school, pop in and say Hi!

Well, back to the crafts! I am almost done (if a crafter is ever 'done'). I just need to make some signs and then pack it all up!

Scallop Circle Punch Santas

I was cruising through some blogs at work (shhh, don't tell anyone) and I came across Tanya Boser's blog. She has a tutorial on how to make the cutest little Santas using the Scallop Circle punch! So, after supper I made some for my Stamping Extravaganza guests this weekend. Aren't they cute?

You can find her tutorial here

All Day Stamping

Today was a really fun day! I went to my friend, Laura's house and we, along with my other friend Corina, completed 30 cards from half a scrappin kit! The picture below does not do justice to what we actually created. And we all came up with different ideas, which was fun!

The ingredients used for these cards were: Half of the 'I Wish' scrappin kit, whisper white, chocolate chip, old olive and real red cardstock, chocolate chip classic ink, Heard from the Heart and Many Merry Messages stamp sets.

If you would like further details, such as measurements, etc, email me and I will send you the template I used.

Until next time, happy stamping!

Finally Friday!

It has been a short week but a long one! Isn't that the way it usually goes? I'm happy it's Friday because I have the day off! Yay! Now I can finish prepping for the stamping extravaganza I am hosting.

Last week my friend, Corina, came over for Technique Tuesday. I taught her all the ins and outs of embossing!

We used the stamp set Holy Triptych. The card to the left is embossed in black and then we coloured her in with SU markers.

This card is really blurry, I apologize for that. We stamped the image with white craft ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. It looks very regal in real life.

Thanks for look and until next time, happy stamping!

Halloween Cards!

I have been participating in some weekly challenges and I have received some awesome cards! The first challenge was to make a card that wasn't the regular 4.25 x 5.5. The card below was sent to me by Debbie. I think it is really cute!

The next challenge was the Wheely card challenge. This was sent to me by Kim. She also did some embossing and flocking! So cool!

This final card is one I cased from someone on Splitcoast for a class I was teaching at work. It uses the Eat, Drink and Be Scary stamp set from the mini. It's so cute!
Recipe: Eat, Drink and Be Scary ss, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White and Old Olive cardstock, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie ink, black brad, 1 1/4 circle punch, pop dot

Until next time, happy stamping!

Down for the Count!

Hi all!

I haven't posted in a while because I had my wisdom teeth pulled last Wednesday so I have been sleeping most of the time! I came through it pretty well, considering some of the horror stories I have heard! I hope to have something to post this week so stay tuned!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Finally Finished!

I have finally completed some projects I have been working on for a while!

First, this cool little backpack that is all the rage. I don't follow instructions very well, so mine is a bit different than the person I cased (I can't remember who so I apologize for that)

This is a 2-4-6-8 box using the new stamp set Eat, Drink and Be Scary. It will be available in the new mini October 1!

And finally, the 'Purse' that I cased from Jantink. It is really cute (not as cute as Jan's but cute enough!). I missed the step for attaching the ribbon handle, but it still works!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Awesome Trip!

Hi all!

I am back from my trip with my son and it was awesome! If you ever get a chance to visit Nova Scotia, do it, especially Peggy's Cove. It is just beautiful there! I could have sat on a rock and stared at the ocean all day.

While I was away I received some goodies from SU! How exciting! I hope to play with them tomorrow and get some new pictures on here.

Until next time, happy stamping!

Off for a bit!

Hi all!

On Thursday I will be going with my son to Halifax for a five day mini vacation. He won a free flight with Porter Airlines (they fly from Toronto Island) and that is the furthest that Porter flies! If you have been reading my blog since the beginning you will remember that he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes back in February. So this is a mini holiday for the two of us as we have had a very rough year!

Until next time, happy stamping!

New 'Toys'!

My favorite truck came to my place today to deliver a package for a customer and there just so happened to be two things in it for me! LOL!

The above stamp set to the is a level 2 hostess set that will be released in the new catty. It is called 'Deer Friends' and is so cute! It will be awesome for making Christmas cards and gift card holders!

The second one is a new set also coming out in the new catty called 'Heard from the Heart'. When we demos were given a sneak peak at some of the stuff being released in the new catty, I just fell in love with this set!

And the best part of both of these sets is they were die cut! Which means two minutes to mount them! All newly released sets in the new catty will be die cut. How cool is that? No more fussing with gummed up scissors! Yahoo!

I hope to play with these sets soon and post what I have created with them, so stay tuned!

Until next time, happy stamping!

I have a few classes coming up with a looming deadline, so I thought I would list the details in this post.

Scrapbook Class – Saturday, May 3 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm – Price of Class = $30.00

It’s National Scrapbooking Day! Let’s celebrate by making our very own scrapbook! Our scrapbook will hold 6 x 6 pages and you can choose the color! No more settling for ones that are in colors you don’t really want! We will use Berry Bliss and Spring Silhouettes designer paper from the catalog with matching cardstock and some embellishments such as ribbons, rub-ons etc. We will also make three 6x6 double page layouts to put in the six 6 x 6 page protectors to get you started plus instructions so you can make more! Please register for this class by April 19.

Featured Stamp Set – Just Celebrate – Tuesday, May 6 from 7pm to 9pm – Price of Class = $55.00

The featured stamp set this month is Just Celebrate from the Occasions mini. In this class, you will receive your very own Just Celebrate stamp set. Because all the stamp sets in the mini are die-cut, we will mount them in class and then we will make a card using each of the stamps! That’s a total of 8 cards! Please register for this class, with pre-payment by April 22, 2008.

Loonies for “Littles” class – Saturday, May 10 from either 10am to 12pm or 1pm to 3pm – Price of Class = $45

From April 15 to May 31 Stampin’Up! is offering a special package and donating $2 from each package sold to Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Canada! How cool is that? To celebrate, I will be hosting a class, at two different times, where we will complete the project that the package makes. For more information about the Loonies for Littles package, please see the flyer that is included with your registration package. Please register with pre-payment for this class by Thursday, April 17.

Hodge-Podge Hardware Class – Tuesday, May 20 from 7pm to 9pm – Price of Class = $45.00

Have you seen the cool hardware that is for sale in the catalog and now in the Occasions mini? Are you saying “Gee, I would really like that, but what would I do with all the pieces?” Then attend this class and I will show you! In this class you will receive a set of Hodge-Podge Hardware, your choice which one, and we will make a few projects using some of the different pieces in the kit. You can choose from an Aged Copper, Antique Brass, Pewter or Silver finish. Not sure you will need all the pieces? Then find a friend, split the cost of the class and share the hardware! Please register with pre-payment for this class by Tuesday, May 6

Any day now...

...the snow can go away! We got a wicked storm again yesterday, starting in the afternoon. I didn't even stamp last night because I didn't want to leave the warmth of my fireplace! Can you imagine, using a fireplace at the end of March? Mind-blowing!

I don't have anything to share today except my wishes for you to keep warm and faithful that someday the sun will shine and it will be warm and it will melt all that snow!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Snow...again?

When I woke up this morning there must have been at least a foot of the fluffy stuff! I thought it was spring! Enough with the snow already! Oh well, at least it is almost April...yet where I come from (Sask) we still got snow in May!
In honour of the snow, I am showing you a card I made last December using the Peaceful Wishes stamp set. I just love that stamp set!
Ingredients: Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla cardstock, Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy ink, Mellow Moss Gingham ribbon.

Until next time, happy stamping!

Is It Spring Yet?

It sure felt like it today! But, alas, we are supposed to get more snow by the end of next week. Oh well!

My friend Corina and I got together Wednesday night and made some money holder Thank You cards.
Aren't they awesome? We made seven in total.

Ingredients: Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery and Whisper White cardstock, Cutie Pie DP, So Many Scallops stamp set, scallop, tab and 1 1/4 circle punches, Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery ink
These are super easy to make! Cut a piece of cardstock to 9 by 8 1/2. Score at 3 and 6 inches on the 9 inch side.

Cut a half circle from the side that folds under the tab part of the holder. Tape the sides together, so the moola doesn't fall out!

We then cut a 3 inch piece of DP and folded it around the card, but not too tight as then it won't slide off and on easily.

Stamp whichever stamp you like from So Many Scallops, punch out with the scallop punch. Punch out two tab punches and cross them over each other to make a circle, which is then just a bit bigger than your scallop punch. Adhere to the DP and Voila!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Little Brown Trucks!

I love little brown trucks! They bring me toys! Like today, for instance. The little brown truck brought me this super hostess stamp set called From the Garden. I had to use it right away!

Ingredients: From the Garden stamp set, Whisper White and Kraft cardstock, Certainly Celery designer paper, Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon, Certainly Celery ink and a ribbon slider from the Hodge Podge hardware that is in the Occasions mini.

Isn't it purty? I cased the card from the Spring and Summer catty, but just changed the colors.

Until next time, happy stamping!

Thursday, March 6, 2008

Invitations Galore!

I have been busy the last couple weeks making invitations for my husband. He is going to be ordained a deacon in the Roman Catholic Church in June. The stamp is not Stampin'Up (sorry) but the rest is. I used Elegant Eggplant and Shimmery White cardstock. I stamped the cross with versa mark and then embossed it with black embossing powder. The saying was printed onto the Shimmery White cardstock with a printer. The scallop edge was done with the slit punch, which took a long time to do 75 invites with!

On another note, the Occasions mini is now out and customers are able to order from it. It has some awesome things in it, especially the new silver Hodge Podge hardware! I am in love!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Scrapping Page

My upline had a business team meeting this week and after all the business was over with we got to make this cool scrapbook page.

It is 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 and the picture is to go somewhere in the middle. I haven't found the perfect one for it yet, but I'm sure I will.

Ingredients: Stamp Set - Friendship Blooms (from the SAB mini), Cardstock - Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Cutie Pie DP, Ink - Purely Pomegranate, Summer Sun, Old Olive.

The middle flower was stamped on a separate paper, cut out and then pasted on.

I think this would look awesome in a picture frame! Thanks for looking and until next time, happy stamping!

Scrapbook Fun!

First off, thanks to everyone for their well wishes on my previous post. My son is adapting awesome, and so are we. I was even able to leave him for a couple hours on Saturday. My upline held her quarterly 'fun' team meeting where all lines of her downline get together and stamp...for fun! We learned two things:
First, this card was demonstrated to us by Andrea Walford. She learned it from Leadership. Ingredients: East Coast Prep DP, More Mustard cardstock, Wild Wasabi double stiched ribbon, brad, jumbo eyelet and the stamp set So Many Scallops from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.

Second we learned how to make a scrapbook out of cardstock and chipboard! It was so cool! The instructions are to detailed to list here but I am thinking this would make an awesome class! This is the outside. I made it with Wild Wasabi textured cardstock and on the inside I used Looks Like Spring DP (retired paper...sorry!)
All I need to add now is 6 x 6 page protectors and some pictures!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Life is like a box of chocolates...

Forrest Gump really knew what he was talking about!

I apologize for not posting in a while, but life threw us a curve ball last week. One of my sons was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and immediately admitted to the hospital for a week. Of course I stayed with him the whole time, except to go home and take a shower and have a really good cry! He is home now and back at school (which he didn't miss much of due to all the snow days!) which is hard for me as I am not there to watch his every move! LOL

I am still going to host my card party this coming Monday, so if you are in the neighborhood, make sure to stop by and make some cards!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Snow Day!

It was a snow day today, not only for the kids but for me too! How cool is that? So I finished preparing for my open house tomorrow, cleaned up my stamping area, shoveled about four times and notice that I need to shovel again! Okay, the snow can stop any time now! LOL! I also had to fight for the computer! Oh well, it was a great day overall.

Sale-a-bration starts today! Yippee! If you place an order of $70 or more, you will receive a FREE stamp set from the Sale-a-bration brochure! You can see these great sets on-line by clicking the Stampin'Up! link to the right of this post. Let me know if there is anything you would like to order as this sale ends March 17!

I still don't have any pictures to post. That darn snow stopped me from going out and getting a battery for my camera! Tomorrow it is supposed to be nice, so I will rush out before the open house!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

First of all, thank you to everyone who has viewed my blog! It is so cool knowing people are actually checking you out! LOL!

Monday's class went awesome! The ladies were so creative! I don't think anyone had the same design on their cards.

I am now preparing for my open house on Saturday, which will feature the new catty and Sale-a-bration all in one. There will be a door prize, a make and take or two, a craft table and my retired stamp sets will be for sale. Oh yeah and snacks! Can't forget the snacks! Plus incentives if you book a workshop or place an order. If you are in the neighborhood, stop on by!

I don't have any pictures to share (battery died in the camera) but hopefully soon!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Card Class

Hi all!

I have been working on samples for my card class on Monday. The gals are going to make 30 cards from half a Stampin'Up! scrappin kit! They will get one sheet each of four textured, solid cardstock, two and a half sheets of printed designer paper, three sheets of sticky die cuts plus their class fee includes 15 sheets of Very Vanilla cardstock and 30 envelopes!

This is a picture of the samples I made. I only made 16 cards (as that is all my board would hold) and I still have lots of paper left over.

It's going to be a great class!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Sale-a-Bration is just around the corner!

Once a year, Stampin'Up! has an awesome sale and this year is no different! Place a minimum order of $70 from February 1 to March 17 and receive a free stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration mini!

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THE SALE-A-BRATION MINI:

The minis were printed before Stampin' Up! announced a 7% reduction in prices for Canadians, so when you are planning your wish list, please remember the following:

  • Customers receive a free Sale-A-Bration (SAB) set with a $70 order, not $75 as printed in the brochure.
  • Hostesses receive a free SAB set with a $400 workshop not $450, 2nd set with $800 workshop not $900, and so on.
  • New demonstrators who join during Sale-a-Bration can choose any stamp set up to $56.68 not $60.95 as printed.

Just wait 'til you see all the great things you can make with the goodies from this brochure! And everything in the mini can be had for FREE! (Gotta love the free stuff!!!!)

Don't have a brochure in hand? Then check it out on-line under the Stampin'Up link to the right or contact me and I will send you one!

Happy stamping!

Howdy!

Hi there!

I have decided to jump on the blog bandwagon!

I hope to share my ideas and love for stamping with you. My goal is to post something new every day, if not every other day. All of my projects are made with Stampin'Up! images, paper and embellishments. Why, you ask? Because I am a Stampin'Up! demonstrator! I loved their stuff so much I decided to join the company and I haven't regretted it since!

This card I created quite a while ago.

Stamp Set: Polka Dots & Paisley
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pink Passion, Whisper White
Ink: Pink Passion, Certainly Celery
Embellishments: silver brads

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about what I have posted. I would love to hear from you!
